Sunday Workshops

Aside from Rewild Camp I run a few Sunday workshops from time to time. Here is a list of my current offerings.

Fire by Friction

Come and learn the basics of fire by friction. I’ll also cover a little about cordage and stone tools as well, as they are involved with making a fire set from scratch in the wild. You’ll build a kit from materials I provide and get to take it home and practice.

Time investment: one 8 hour day
Cost: $25
Student limit: 10
Date: TBD

English Ivy Bike Baskets

Future Workshops:

Rewilding 101

lorax2.jpglorax1.jpg

This 10-week, college-like course covers the ecological, anthropological and psychological principles of rewilding. We’ll cover the ills of agricultural civilization and the benefits of indigenous horticulture. You’ll learn to articulate the invisible hierarchy and understand how to free yourself from its shackles. You’ll begin to understand the mental trauma and psychosis inflicted on us everyday and how to overcome them. This class will not teach you how to skin and butcher a deer or what native wild plants you can eat. You can learn wilderness survival skills in the U.S. Army, tracking with the U.S. Border Patrol, and you can put your knowledge of ethnobotany to work for Monsanto, but we all know we would not call any of these people rewilders. This class will give you the framework with which that knowledge becomes rewilding. In the right context, these skills will rescue you from this destructively insane culture. Come learn to build the framework for your rewilding culture.

The Art of Rewilding

This weeklong intensive builds on Rewilding 101 and puts many of the skills to work. Here, you will learn basic edible plants, fire-making, animal tracking among other “hard skills.” But again, the emphasis here is community building and communication skills.
